Hello from Northern California,
As a show home we do evaluate our papillons to see if they meet the American Kennel Club Papillons "Show" Standard. Evaluating show
potential from pet quality takes alot of love, time, and patience. It is very difficult to make the decision to let ANY of our Papillons go but this is the
nature of breeding for show potential puppies. We look to improve upon the breed in health, temperament, and conformation. The papillons that do not quite make it to show will be sold as pet or performance dogs. Occasionally we do sell some of our adult papillons as retirees, which will give you years of unconditional love. This pet or performance dog has the same and wonderful pedigrees as a show dog and is a well bred papillons. The money received from the sale of a papillon goes right back into the papillons and the show program.
It is my goal to make sure our pet or show potential papillons go to the best possible loving homes. So I will ask for your veterinarian and possibly another professional reference.
A pet papillon is sold on limited registration which means spay and neutering or the alternative form (more of a holistic form of spay/neuter for better health of the papillon) is part of the contract where breeding is not! We sell show prospect puppies either on a co-owned or full registration based on the individual show experience and particular papillon that is purchased.
My guarantee for Pet: A buyer of a pet or show prospects has up to three working days to take the Papillon to their vet after receiving their papillon for a physical exam. At that time the buyer can return the papillon if they choose and I will refund your money (minus non refundable deposit, travel cost and vet fees). The papillon must be in the same condition mentally and physically as when they left my home for a refund. In addition, the buyer has up to 15 days after purchase of papillon for a refund (minus non-refundable deposit, travel cost and vet fees) if buyer decide he/she is not adjust to their family living situation. It does take time for a Papillon to adjust to new changes and typically they seem to adjust quickly. So, as long as they are in the same condition both mentally and physically as when they left my home I will honor a refund of your money (minus non-refundable deposit, travel cost and vet fees). In addition, If down the road, a papillon purchased from me the buyer can no longer care for the puppy/adult, I always welcome them back to our home for a safe and happy future at no expense the the buyer.
My guarantee for show prospect: Show prospects of my breeding have up to two years from the date of purchase where I would guarantee against any genetic disorder. Any genetic disorders would need to be proven by a certified veterinarian. I will also request an OFA (Heart and patella) and CERF test be preformed by a certified veterinarian to verify the findings and have not been bred! I will replace this particular papillon with another puppy or young adult of similar lines, value, and sex. Veterinarian cost and any travel, shipping is be the responsibility of the buyer. After the Papillon is returned I will give you up to a year to accept a similar replacement puppy. Having purchased several Papillons, I find this is a fair offer in order to make sure your papillon will be a excellent candidate for the show ring and to also improve upon the breed.
A Non-Refundable Deposit (1/3 the value of the Papillon) is required to hold your Papillon. We do not pay any expenses associated with travel. (Crate, Health Certificate, or other travel expenses). We accept PayPal or Cash. Cash on the day of pick up. If paying with a checks payments MUST clear 15 days prior to puppy being delivered.
Due to the USDA Animal Welfare Act, new owners must pick up in person or have their agent representing the owner pick up in person. Any travel expenses to meet prospective owner plus other travel expenses are the responsibility of the new owner.
I will be happy to answer any questions whether or not you purchase a papillon from me. If you decide to call or email me directly, please keep in mind that I do work from home and I am not always readily available to reply. Please leave your name, phone number, state or country you live in and the best time of the day to call you. To the best of my ability, I will return within a week, if not that same day! Please be respectful of the time because we are on the west coast of the United States, Pacific Standard Time. Thank you MaryAnn
